Minutes of meeting of 27th April 2008 .

 

Present: Phil Richards, chair; Richard & Judith Hill; Carole Plummer. Doug Hill; Mike Barker: Sheila Greaves.

 

Apologies; Chanda Chadder; Gordon Harrhy.

 

Minutes of Last Meeting: the minutes of the meeting of 16.01.08 were proposed as a true record by Doug, seconded by Mike and unanimously agreed.

 

Matters Arising:   Fencing – this has been erected and when suitable, blackthorn whips will be transplanted from Colchester Avenue . Thanks to Richard and Mike for putting up fence.

Mr Mousilou – this has now been resolved, a new contract has been signed.

Cultivation orders – the plots that have been vacated have been re-let.

Rat man- the council will pay for the pest control contract.

Tree-surgeon – unfortunately fly-tipping has occurred since allowing this company in; the lock has been changed; the deposited materials cleared and hopefully this situation has been resolved.

Bark – this is now being deposited at top of site.

Secretary’s Report: Celia has issued more ‘Clear or Quit’ notices; the bottom car park has been cleared of rubble and bark, the machines hired cost £600 approx, but this was for 3 weeks and was a discounted price. We have been reimbursed by the Council for the cost of the new locks and keys.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  Elaine Rees is to be approached, she is a plot holder.

 

Correspondence: minutes of CDAA and Council meetings are the only items received.

Phil said that if anyone wished to take over the position of chairman, he would stand down; the feelings of the meeting were that he does an excellent job and we would be pleased for him to stand for another year.

The agenda for the AGM was set.

 

The next meeting will be the AGM on 11th May 2008 at 2.30pm . In Allotment shop..
